  • Ash Wednesday Pancake Supper - 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
There will be toppings of fruit and chocolate and even whipped cream!
Why a Pancake Supper? In the old days there were many foods that observant Christians would not eat during Lent: foods such as meat and fish, fats, eggs, and milky foods. So that no food was wasted, families would eat up all the foods that wouldn't last the forty days of Lent without going bad, often in the form of pancakes. The need to eat up the fats gave rise to the French name Mardi Gras; meaning Fat Tuesday.

  • Ash Wednesday Service - 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Ash Wednesday invites us into the season of Lent–a time within the church year to acknowledge our mortality, our limits and our vulnerability so that we might be transformed and become the new life God calls us to be. Lent awakens us to hope in God whose "steadfast love endures forever" and to struggle against everything that leads us away from the love of God and neighbor. Suitable for all ages and we are hoping that families will attend following the Pancake Supper. Childcare will be available
